Public Health Insects

This one day insect course will educate pest controllers on the biology and control methods for the six most common insects that pose a risk to public health. This training will enhance your skills in identification, prevention and control of insect pests. You will benefit from a greater understanding of behavioural patterns, harbourage locations and breeding cycles, which is essential to reach a successful resolution of all pest infestations.

This 1 day course will cover:

  • Cockroaches
  • Ants
  • Bed bugs
  • Wasps
  • Fleas
  • Flies
  • Pesticide formulations and application
  • Chemical and non-toxic control methods
  • Electric flykillers

Additional guidance on the different types of application methods and insecticide formulations will ensure that you will be able to choose the correct form of treatment relating to each species. It will also provide effective knowledge for those who are either working towards the RSPH Level 2 qualification, or are revising to re-sit the exam. This one-day course has been designed to give everyone from new recruits to experienced professionals an insight into all aspects of insect control.
